This is huge my friends!!!

Eh... We have a calendaring system that is locked down and only accessible to a restricted list of people... (Hence, no one uses it)...

We have a web site that no one posts anything to because no one has access... (Thus no one looks at its lack of content)...

We have no collaboration strategy other than email. Email is used to copy everyone on everything. So that nothing is archived, and everyone has to be bothered by tons of group emails daily.... See More

The growing reality is that we are being spammed by a terrible misapplication of too much of the wrong technology without a real practical human-factors analysis, staff training, and corporate philosophy.

Stop with the bright shiny objects. Stop with the widgets and gadgets and buzzword compliance. Start with your organizational communication styles and goals. Start with a strategy that puts the organization first, and then figures out what technolgy might actually get used to facilitate that communication.

Make sure the technology matches the corporate culture, and don't try to conform corporate culture to what's hot this month in Wired Magazine.
