Kristi

Kristi Fellow advocates, something great is happening in the state of Oregon! We’ve formed a network for child sexual abuse survivors and advocates, and want to invite you to check us out, and to join our efforts! We need your voice! http://oaasisoregon.org/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/OAASIS-Oregon/197811119541?ref=sgm

OAASIS-- Oregon Abuse Advocates and Survivors In Service. Oasis: A place of rest and refreshment, often in the midst of a desert or other harsh landscape, where lost or weary travelers find comfort and support, learn they are not alone and encourage one another, and ...then gain strength for the next phase of their journeys. Who we are: We are an alliance of survivors and advocates committed to employing our personal and collective strengths, energies, and experiences to advocate and support sexual abuse survivors, educate others and to eliminate further abuse.

Jodi Heintz Just attended Friday Forum -- a sobering look at the pessimism Oregonians feel about government's ability to address social problems. I would have appreciated some focus on Oregonians' commitment to volunteerism, neighborhood activism, entrepreneurialism, and philanthropy. Government certainly plays a role in problem s...olving, but so do the everyday actions of citizens.

Listened to Friday Forum on OPB last night. The program made me think about the need to tap our nonprofit leaders to craft more effective policies and raise cultural awareness in Portland and Oregon. Many thanks to these inspiring women for all they do.

God bless you Maria. People forget FDR who was the most progressive president till Obama, interred the Japanese. It is progressives who are obsessed with race and group victimization. It is conservatives who are obsessed with color blind individual achievement, responsibility, and accountability. For progressives if you don't focus on race you are a racist, if you don't focus on sex you are a homophobe...the examples are simply too numerous. Correlation does not equate to causation.

I'm not sure what the article is trying to say. Should we stop with the bike plans and streetcars and go all out to recruit minorities to live here? Should we go ahead with our progressive ideas but be loudly and publicly ashamed of ourselves?
