About 1,400 individuals from around the country, representing community planning teams from well over 100 cities, have come to New York City this week to learn more about Promise Neighborhoods, a federal initiative based on the Harlem Children’s Zone.

City Connect Detroit Prevailing Wisdom: You’ve got to train youth to work BEFORE they get a job. That was one of the assumptions of City Connect’s Summer Youth Employment Program. That’s why they collaborated with the Skillman Foundation and Prevailing Community Corp. to give 100 youth a 10-week training and job preparation course. Read about some of the youth successes!
