We connect with women and disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets, and run programmes which engage them, train them and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to enter work. Partnering with City firms to expand their horizons.

Literacy Lunch offers the opportunity for local city workers in the area to come in and volunteer in their lunch hour or after work.
The launch provided a taster of the Literacy Lunch sessions. Local women and city workers got to meet for the first time, pla...y fun literacy games and eat healthy snacks.
The food at the event was provided by Flavour Gateway, City Gateway's own catering social enterprise.

The Literacy Lunch is a new bite-sized volunteering scheme launching at the City Gateway Women's Project in Poplar, near Canary Wharf. The scheme is ideal for those who want to get involved in the community where they work either in lunch breaks or after work.

Meet the women, see the centre, play some games and eat good food!
There will be workshops at tables throughout the day, each table with a 'Fruit and Vegetable' theme. Some of the games we'll be playing include: Fruit and Veg Bingo, City Gateway Word Search and Dreams Storyboards.
Speeches will also be given from women who have successfully progressed at The Women's Project with the theme, 'I have a dream'.
There will be a tour of our newly refurbished centre, a chance to meet the team, see what can be covered in the sessions, sign up to a cluster and start volunteering!
A fun and colourful day - celebrating literacy and food!
