- "TWO FAMILY HOUSE": THE NEVER ENDING SAGA GOES ON...AND ON...AN ON... 1:12pm Jun 27
- CITY ISLAND: A Q&A... 7:17pm Jun 22

Right, then. Salt Lake City. Sundance 2000. The story of selling "Two Family House". Anybody still care...

One of these days I will finish the "Two Family House" story and discussion.--if popular demand were a reliable indicator I would have by now happily abandoned it...

Below I've pasted today's Hollywood Reporter piece. My producer Lauren Versel tells me that today last year was the first day of pre-production on the movie...

Click here to find out what promises to be excellent news for those of you who've been following the up/down in/out whirl of activity surrounding our movie.More later...much more...

Horton Street, the Next Generation

All right, so I got busy and have only posted intermittently. And what the hell of it? Heres a nice link to a nice review of "Tis Autumn" (available now on Amazon!). And here's another one...

Okay. So I skipped a week. Would you like to know what I've been doing all this time? If only I could remember...But I digress. And whatnot. When was Columbine? April 20, 1999. Why do I care? Simple. Because that dates when the pre-production phase of "Two Family House" had begun...

So it's late 1998 and I've heard from Al Klingenstein and Jim Kohlberg (via Anne Harrison, my producing partner) that they want to make the film. This is the problem with show business. The least likely things happen and the most obvious ones don't...

I lived in the other side of this house around 1998. It was movie worthy even then.

The main character in the film "Two Family House" (and our new musical "Buddy's Tavern") is a kind of mid-century, outerborough everyman named Buddy Visalo...

Onward, blog-ho. Here's how we got here, re: this musical of ours, "Buddy's Tavern", now playing in Norwich, Connecticut...

Last night I attended the official opening night of a musical we made of my film "Two Family House", which I wrote and directed and which was released in 2000...

A few more shots from our Polish adventure before moving on to less exotic pursuits. But first, a plug. Do you like swing music? Dig Benny Goodman? Never heard of him? Well, the "King Of Swing" is having his centennial celebrated by New York's great jazz station, WKCR...

And poof! The whole Poland experience is over. I spent most of yesterday on an interminable (but luxurious) Lufthansia flight back to New York. The screening of "City Island" on Saturday night was an eye-opener...

Welcome to Krakow. My hotel is around the corner from the main square, pictured above--the "marketplace" as its calledlocally...

Dig the heavyness of my composing this blog at dawn from the airport lounge in Frankfurt, Germany while waiting for my connecting flight to Krakow, Poland. The walllessness--the boundry-lessness of it all--makes me idiotically happy. What's in Krakow, you ask...

Most of us can probably remember back to a time when a particular piece of technology that we now take for granted seemed stunningly new, oddly exotic and perhaps beyond our given talents for competent management...

Below dig the superb mention of our movie on comingsoon.net. I decided to cut and paste it below since the sentiments it expresses make me absurdly proud and happy...

Click here to read a moderately interesting interview with me and Andy Garcia, conducted for a publication called Hosokinema, which sounds awfully Japanese to my ears. Well why not...

Finally it's turned up: the Andy/Dominik "Access Hollywood" moment, broadcast on opening weekend of the Tribeca Film Festival. Click here to watch it...

The other day I posted an interview with me in Italian from an Italian blog, which I suggested as a possible new wave method for learning a foreign language. Continuing that theme, dig the above--an article from a Spanish Language newspaper. Can any of you translate this article...

Above, click to enlarge and then scroll down past the mention of Jerry Herman's honorary Tony Award and see the New York Times mention of our winning the Audience Award, published in the "Grey Lady" this morning...

http://www.thewrap.com/files/news_article/VarietyFront_600x320REV_0.jpgBelow I've cut and pasted Variety's rave review of our movie. Normally I would simply provide the link for you to read this but what the hell. This isn't your everyday, garden-variety good review...

Click here to read Jan Stuart's fine review of "City Island" in Screen Daily. In it he refers to my 2000 Sundance Audience Award winner "Two Family House", likening the tone and subject matter (the lives of the bridge and tunnel crowd) to "City Island"...

Welcome to "Link Heaven". Click below for lots of goodies--articles, reviews etc. all positive. I'm off to more press. Our next screening is tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. HDFEST.COM: Gerald Wright’s positive review is posted to this site...

Above: Mickey Rourke and Andy Garcia chumming it up at our premiere night. This photo appeared in AM New York and will no doubt go down in history as one of the great "odd couple" pairings of all time...

Its funny to see this photo, I worked on The Wrestler then went to work on City Island....

Click here to see AMC’s video coverage from the press day. It's me and Andy Garcia squeezed uncomfortably together on a couch, looking like two guys in a crowded airport lounge.I'll be back with a full report on the premiere night tomorrow (Monday)...
