Outside of work he enjoys mountain climbing and has completed an unguided ascent to the top of Mount Everest. General Cosgrove traded in khaki for a corporate uniform when he retired from the military after more than 40 years ...of service in 2005. Still a familiar figure in the media and writer of a best-selling memoir, the 2009 Boyer Lectures gave him an opportunity to share his views widely.
