Evolution of pirate torsos

Evolution of pirate torsos

So I was creating some pirate minifigs today and started noticing a lot of similarities between old and new torsos. Just like LEGO updated the old torsos. I've created this image with some help of bricklink photo's. So what's going on? Did LEGO update the old torsos? Are the new torsos merely inspired by the old ones? Is it just a coinsidense? Am I just seeing what I want to see? What is your opinion about this! Let me know!

WIP Port

As you may have noticed most of my recent uploads have been minor and there will be a few more minor creation, but that can all be attributed to the fact that I have a nice new large diorama I want to show you all when I finish it.

Yes it does go along with that flagship from a while back.

If anybody has a nice name to go along with something similar to the 'Rebuilding of _______". Feel free to fill in the blank.

Yes it is for Pillage the Village II.

HMS Pickle Sets Sail With The Trafalgar Dispatch

HMS Pickle Sets Sail With The Trafalgar Dispatch

On 21st October 1805, a British fleet under Admiral Lord Nelson defeated a combined Franco-Spanish fleet just off Cape Trafalgar in Spain. Nelson was killed during the action.

After the battle the 10-gun sloop HMS Pickle, under Lieutenant John Richards Lapenotiere, was chosen to bear the news of the victory, and Nelson's death, back to Britain. It arrived at Falmouth on 4th November, and Lieutenant Lapenotiere then travelled up to London by coach.

In 2005, as part of the bicentenery celebrations of the battle, his journey was recreated, and passed through my home town.

This vignette shows HMS Pickle about to embark on its journey back to Britain. Behind it is Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory, now preserved at Portsmouth and currently the oldest commisioned warship in the world.
