That would be CONsubstantiation (real presence = Jesus spiritually present in, under, around, and through the bread and the wine) rather than TRANSubstantiation (the bread and wine are miraculously physically transformed into the actual flesh and blood of Jesus - TRULY present - while retaining for our sakes the appearance of bread and wine. This is a dramatically different view of the Sacrament.

Yup, it is a major difference. Transubstantiation is not accepted outside of the Catholic and Orthodox church. Another significant difference is that Catholics do not recognize Lutheran clergy as part of the apostolic succession which is essential for transubstantiation to take place.

To the people who do see the movie, the destruction of iconic representations of Catholicism will be moments of horror and tragedy (presumably), not occasions for triumph, unless I'm misreading the context of the film. This is where considering the narrative context of the scene is useful, as sometimes the narrative as a whole can make a statement that is different from the isolated examples of visual rhetoric. And often an author, filmmaker, etc., makes a very different impression than the one he might have been intending. Creativity is funny that way...

There is also the possibility that the underlying worldview is simply atheist. Reportedly, the director *wanted* to show Islamic holy sites toppling also, but was afraid of a fatwa.

I vote for not spending money on entertainment that will make the enemies of the Church more wealthy.

She refused on the grounds she didn't believe in Sacrement invalidation of marriage, but yet she didn't mind being remarried without the Church's permission. I couldn't get that straight in my mind. I was judging her as she was a very good friend, and my former wife was her cousin. I just could understand her logic.
