Colorado AIDS Project
Backtracks is one of Colorado AIDS Project's longest running fundraisers. The event is a 70's disco party celebrating the heyday of butterfly collars, bell bottoms, leisure suits and afros. While it is a throwback to the emerging gay club culture of decades past, it also serves as a reminder of the early years of the A...IDS epidemic.
Initially started in 1982 at the original Tracks nightclub, Backtracks became one of the largest, most fun and most well-known annual fundraisers for Colorado AIDS Project through the event’s 27-year history. When Tracks nightclub closed its doors, the Colorado Tavern Guild, an alliance of Denver’s GLBT bars and nightclubs, stepped in to continue to present the event on CAP’s behalf at various locations throughout Denver. Backtracks became the only event to occur each year in which all of the Guild members participated and provided volunteers to work the event.
The return of this event will revisit its roots by returning to Tracks/EXDO Event Center. Food, drink specials, your favorite dance music of the past four decades and many more surprises await you at the return of this community favorite event.Read More
