Photo Friday: Did you know that this cottage is going GREEN? We have equipped all cottages with water conserving shower heads and faucets and have began the conversion to high efficiency toilets. These devices all comply with the new EPA Water Sense program which is the equivalent of the Energy Star program and has bee...n developed for water conservation.
We are also working toward a goal of “zero solid waste” generation through recycling, composting and the reuse of building materials.

Colorado Chautauqua Photo Friday: Does it get any more beautiful than this? Check out the snow covered Community House.

The Colorado Chautauqua Association held a very successful, invitation-only fundraising dinner at the Colorado Chautauqua on Friday, October 16, 2009. The evening started with a “cottage crawl” – appetizers with paired wines in three of the cottages. 72 guests attended, including Congressman Jared Polis. The cocktail ...party was followed by dinner at Chautauqua’s Community House. Frasca Food and Wine restaurant catered both parts of the evening, closing their doors for the night in order to lend their support to the Chautauqua.
The evening concluded with an auction. All the auction items sold, including a visit to board president George Karakehian’s house in Cape Cod, Frasca Food and Wine’s privately catered dinner, and Intrepid Travel’s trip for two to Thailand. Funds and support raised during the Grand Convergence event will be instrumental in the “greening” of Chautauqua.
