Columba 1400

At an Awards Ceremony Dinner at Christ Church in Spitalfields, London, on Thursday 25 June 2009, Columba 1400 was pronounced winner of the Upper Tier Category of the “Bank of Scotland Corporate Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.”

Columba 1400 was awarded with Bank of Scotland's Upper Tier Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award at an awards ceremony in London on Thursday 25th June.

Columba 1400 is delighted to have been chosen as one of the three ‘upper tier category’ finalists in the prestigious Bank of Scotland Corporate Social Entrepreneur Awards 2009.  The announcement of which was made in an article in The Sunday Times on 21 June 2009.

On Friday 19 June 2009 we were pleased to welcome, amongst other distinguished guests, David Young, President, and Gordon Ash from the West of Scotland Wooden Spoon Society for the formal Opening of the new all-weather sports pitch at Columba 1400, Staffin.

Four energetic and generous people from Dundas Wilson volunteer their time and effort to raise money for Columba, running in the Edinburgh Marathon.

The Wooden Spoon Sports Pitch is excitingly underway with a planned opening date of mid June.  Most of the major build work has now been completed and the delicate work of layering the surface, installing the floodlights and laying the turf is currently in progress....

What a remarkable sight - 40 adults kicking off their shoes and launching themselves into the exciting task of creating personal collages with the same level of youthful enthusiasm they might expect to witness in the classrooms of their own schools .....
