In the London Theatre study abroad program, students of all majors will watch and participate in various productions. The course will cover the alternative London theatre scene and a multi-cultural dimension of theatre practice in Britain today. Students will see a range of theatres from street theatre to the Shakespea...re’s Globe. Classes will be in the mornings with workshops, internships and special lectures in the afternoons. Any major is welcome to apply but students must be sophomore level or higher and must have taken English 110 or 111 and at least one theatre course. Office of International Affairs To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the Ohio State Center for Slavic and East European Studies will create a 6 x 20 foot “replica” of the wall on Monday, November 9 on the Wexner Plaza between Page Hall and the Wexner Center for the Arts. Construction of the wall will begin at 7 a.m. and once completed, passers-by can paint graffiti on the west side of the wall.

Office of International Affairs Ohio State plant pathologist Brian McSpadden Gardener is collaborating with South Korean scientists at Chonnam National University in the development of technologies related to bioenvironmental control. In addition to the research, McSpadden Gardener is teaching a graduate-level course on biocontrol of plant diseases at CNU.

This is a great introduction to the world of study abroad as well. Students wi...ll take a GEC course (PORT 330, no language required) that focuses on the culture, history and literature of Brazil. The course intends to promote an understanding of Brazilian culture and will prepare students for the various excursions that will take place while in Salvador da Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Office of International Affairs William Brustein, Vice Provost for Global Strategies and International Affairs, outlined a strategy for integrating international experiences and perspectives into the teaching, research and engagement mission of Ohio State at a Board of Trustee committee meeting on 10/28. He explained that the foundation of a global university is one in which internationalization is perceived as value-added across all disciplines.

Office of International Affairs Study Abroad Info Session: Nantes Summer International Business today at 3:30 p.m. in Schoenbaum Hall 200. This 6-week study abroad program offered during June-July 2010 is open to Fisher College of Business students and is designed to introduce students to the European Union and business/finance in Europe. Students will earn 12 hours of credit in various business disciplines, with an optional 3-credit French course.
