ComedySportz Twin Cities - (Comedy Sportz)
ComedySportz and Stevie Ray’s Comedy Theater - two local improv comedy theaters celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2009 - perform together for the first time on November 11 to benefit the Joyce Food Shelf.
“We’ve been performing improv comedy across town from each other for twenty years,” said Jill Bernard of Co...medySportz, “We thought it was time to come together.” Adds Stevie Ray: “Stevie Ray’s is excited to blend the talents of ComedySportz and The Stevie Ray’s Comedy Troupe to give the audience a once-in-a-lifetime show.”
All proceeds from this Comedy Crosstown will go to the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf, at 1219 W. 31st St. The food shelf serves approximately 2,000 residents of Southwest Minneapolis each month, many who are elderly, or families with young children. “Almost daily, Monday thru Friday, a line begins to form at the entrance to Joyce Uptown Food Shelf well before the food shelf's opening at 1p.m.” said Jean McGrath, the food shelf’s director. “More than 24,000 hungry neighbors joined that line in 2008 and the numbers continue to climb.”
ComedySportz has regular shows Thursday through Saturday in Calhoun Square in Uptown Minneapolis, and Stevie Ray’s Comedy Theater performs at the Sheraton in Bloomington, MN every Friday and Saturday. Details at at www.comedysportztc.com and www.stevierays.org

Audience members get to yell out suggestions throughout the show and provide lines of dialogue fo...r the actors. But, be warned, this show is not for the faint of heart and is recommended for ages 18+!
