I'm aware of that, Congressman Johnson, but their are people in the middle class that won't qualify for hardship exemption, but will still be in the same predicament of having to make very difficult decisions about what necessities have to be cut in order to avoid the lack of coverage fine - or having to pay the fine.

I have to add that your open... See More communication with voters is on a higher level than I've experienced with my 2 senators. Thank you for that. When you were on the DeKalb Commision, I became impressed with how straitforward you were in approaching the issues even when I did not agree with you.

Who is John Woods? Amen Justin Seymour ! I would like to ask where is it in the us constitution that mandates Amnesty for 30 million thieves of the American Dream? Hank Johnson should be talking with Inger if the Dustin Inman Society. She is a smart black female that understands thatour nation is being sold down the river. Ithink that John woods is... See More that left winger that goes to all the socialist events like Amnesty rallies ,healthcare and more. I have pictures. I will have to post some on my new website. Thanks. And you don't think American insurance companies have been selling clients lives "down the river" for years? Is it the American Dream that someone in America has to file for bankruptcy every 30-seconds due to medical expenses? People are dying because America has made the basic right of health care a profit center for insurance company CEO's who ... See Moremake millions off those who simply want to be healthy. Wake up. America is 37th in world in quality of health care. I wouldn't call that "the American Dream." We need the Public Option, single payer, not for profit health insurance. You can keep your for profit insurance and maybe you will even be able to afford it as costs continue to skyrocket.

Thank you! As you know, anyone who is on Medicare or works for the Federal government, including all senators and congressmen who voted against the bill, already have the "socialized medicine" they would deny to others so desperately in need.

WASHINGTON — A US lawmaker has introduced legislation to end "inhumane and unconstitutional" rules that prevent death row inmates from presenting newly discovered evidence to dispute their guilt.

Damien, you kill two birds with one shot when you don't kill them. First we do not put ourselves to their level of murderers and secondly, making them pay inside a prison for the rest of their lives is greater punishment than just killing them. Its like when you have a horse that breaks its feet. Killing the horse is the most human thing to do, you... See More don't want your horse to suffer for the rest of his life and you put an end to its misery, but we do want the murderers to suffer and pay for what they did for the rest of their life.

Congressman Hank Johnson Yesterday I introduced the Effective Death Penalty Appeals Act, which would ensure that death row inmates have a chance to present newly discovered evidence of innocence.

Constitution Subcommittee Chairman Nadler, Judiciary Committee Chairman Conyers, Crime Subcommittee Chairman Scott, and Ways and Means Subcommittee Ch...airman John Lewis (Atlanta) are among original cosponsors.

yes, you are right to point out he eventually came out to condemn the crackdown on the protesters by Iran's leadership. I think the problem for me was the 10 day delay in deciding to speak out firmly. Congressman Hank Johnson is an original cosponsor of a critical PATRIOT Act reform bill, H.R. 3845, which will reauthorize those PATRIOT Act provisions critical to counterterrorism while dramatically curbing excesses that jeopardize Americans’ civil
liberties.

“The threat of terrorism is real, and law enforcement must have the right tools to protect Americans,” said Johnson. “But the PATRIOT Act went too far, and these bills will ensure that our counterterrorism efforts have a solid Constitutional footing.”

I believe some legislation should have had time limits, as the color of our nation is very diverse. I am often confused on who is the minority or "special group" in a given situation. I see that many people of color band together and call themselves a Black or Hispanic group. Does this mean if you are different ethnically, your ideas are not ... See Morewelcome? I do not like separation or special entitlements based on color. It often perpetuates feelings of inadequacy among the group, then it lifts them up. There are so many factors when it comes to age. It is extremely rare to let someone go based on chronological age. Probably based on more issues than age. Change is hard for those living in the past, like Conyers.
