Still think the whole health bill is ludicrous but abortion shall not be funded with my tax dollars.

agree with Mike. why would someone want the killing of another person to be funded by the government?

wow. So did you support the Iraq War? Or Afghanistan? I don't, but that's my personal opinion. Most Republicans seem to support war yet will not tolerate a woman's private decision to have an abortion. The idea that you can control everything your tax dollar touches is naive. Again, just my humble opinion.

I fear the fate of future generations under the Dems. The ones who aren't aborted will be TAXED to death!

Mike and Alan... your tax dollars and mine went to kill a great deal of innocent civilians in Iraq which most likely included pregnant women and children. I understand that the Republican party does not care about children (see sCHIP), but how could you let our government kill innocent Iraqi fetuses?

David C. Wilson ... don't believe everything you hear on Fox (or Limbaugh or Beck or Hannity). As Americans, we have much in common that they don't want you to know about.

We all have the right to express our own opinions. Just because my opinion on healthcare doesn't line up with yours, you figure that it is not my own opinion. Enough with trying to belittle each other. If we have so much in common, then how about some civility and dignity? Maybe that's more naive than trying to keep the Hyde Amendment in force ... See Morewhile the government tries to take over healthcare. Even though this bad bill has passed, the Stupak-Pitts amendment has been accepted, which is good. (in my OWN opinion.)

I see - the Republican position is that they don't want "the government to come between the patient and the doctor"... except for the Hyde and Stupak-Pitts amendments... and of course in the Terri Schiavo case.

Tim...nice cheap shot on SCHIP...to bad your ignorance got in the way of the facts. Republicans' didn't support SCHIP because it gave coverage to children who already had it and increased so that families making almost $90,000 a year would be eligible. There is no need a family making that much money needs government healthcare for their ... See Morechildren. My parent's income is 1/3 of that and all three of us always had healthcare, even though it was never provided by my parents' jobs.

I won't even get into the argument of abortion being a "right," remember, southerners use to use the same argument: if you don't like slavery don't own slaves. We know how unethical that logic was, but as is typical of the pro-choice argument, it completely disregards the facts. Nobody's "rights" supercede a human beings right to life.

David...I'm 20, and I am convinced when my generation inherits this nation and begins to lead it, we will inherit the weakest America that has ever existed. Thankfully we have great people like Mr. Pitts who are trying to provide for a better America.

Oh Jonathan. How much easier must it be to live in a world painted in only shades of black and white. Nobody's "rights" supercede a human being's right to life? Really? Do you support war? Or is that an "approved" shade of gray?

Jonathan - so you proved my point. The GOP does not care about children (well some do, they voted for SCHIP, just not our Congressman). If a very small percentage of moderate income families need help getting affordable coverage, say for a preexisting condition that bars them from affordable coverage, you will look the other way.

At least two ... See Morethings supersede a human beings right to life... there ability to pay for health insurance, and an insurance company bureaucrat.

I think I've got this right... We MUST grease every skid to kill children, and somehow justify it by comparing it to war. Then we must spend money that we don't have and create an onerous and intrusive government that will eventually enslave those children because we care about them so much.
