Consumer Health Coalition
An event for community members to gather and discuss the need to enhance access to quality and afforable healthcare for everyone. With the August recess here, advocates for health care reform need to be more vocal than ever to ensure our voice is heard by local legislators while they are at home in the district.
We wi...ll be going over any recent developments in the fight for health care reform and talk about what we might be able to expect when our legislators return to Washington in September. Please join us to discuss these issues and more while we brainstorm new ways to advocate in our community!
Time:6:30PM Wednesday, August 12th

Consumer Health Coalition IS BETTER THAN THIS!! Join us at the State Budget Rally today at NOON at the Roberto Clemente State Park!! Don't let the budget be balanced on the backs of the most vulnerable!!

Consumer Health Coalition
As we know, the state General Assembly is doing its annual June budget debates.
As we know, the state Senate passed their version of the budget SB 850, which was, in a word, horrific and sought to balance our budget on the backs of the commonwealth’s most vulnerable. How’s this for timely information, SB 850 was just... defeated in the House Appropriations Committee…..the fun continues…….
As we know, every year, the Health Committee for People with Disabilities has done advocacy and taken action as it relates to items in the state budget that impact persons with disabilities. We have and will continue to: make phone calls, write letters, and keep showing up.
However, this budget year demands us to have a much more visible event and one that will generate even more awareness and involvement.
You are invited to join us for a STATE BUDGET RALLY on Friday, 19 June from Noon – 12:45 at Roberto Clemente Memorial Park (Located at the corner of Art Rooney Avenue and North Shore Drive and near the site of the Mr. Rogers statue.
