Consumers Union Consumer Reports' latest tests of canned
foods, including soups, juice, tuna, and green beans, have found that
almost all of the 19 name-brand foods tested contain measurable levels
of Bisphenol A (BPA). The new findings show that BPA can be found in a
diverse assortment of canned foods including those labeled "organic,"
and even in some foods packaged in "BPA-free" cans.

Consumers Union This post has more halloween jokes than I can shake a stick at. But feeding chicken poop to cattle? Not a joke.

Source: www.consumersunion.org
Remember this epic scene in Soylent Green? That seems pretty far fetched and gross. Yet here is something that proves that reality can be just as gross: Feeding cattle chicken coop waste. That means your beef may have been fed chicken feces, feathers, dirt and spilled feed made from cattle remains.

Consumers Union's Safe Patient Project is hosting a forum in Washington DC calling for urgent action to make our health care safe. But you don't have to travel to DC to watch this important forum--we will webcast it live for the whole country to see! On November 17 from 10AM-3:30PM EST, just go to this website and you ...will be able to click to the streaming video: http://bit.ly/3ZdFhE

You will also be able to submit your questions to the moderator as the forum is happening.

Our forum theme is the 10th anniversary of the IOM study on medical errors and the lack of progress over the past decade in preventing medical harm. We released a report earlier this year on the subject: "To Err is Human, To Delay is Deadly." You can read it here: http://bit.ly/9vZPB

Our keynote speaker is Paul O'Neill, former Secretary of the U.S. Treasury who has also been a strong advocate for patient safety and recently penned an op-ed in the New York Times. For more information about our other honorary speakers go here: http://bit.ly/3ZdFhE

In the past decade our nation has failed to prevent medical harm, and as a result, millions of Americans have died or been injured, and tens of billions of health-care dollars wasted on treating the resulting preventable illnesses.

Please join us on the web by tuning in to our webcast on November 17 from 10AM-3:30 PM EST!
