"We need to make these neighborhoods safer in order to convince our youth that they can indeed live life on the streets of Albany without being armed!"

Don't forget the rest of use who live in Albany. We fear for the safety of our neighborhoods!! And fear for the safety of our lives. Can we live a life in our neighborhoods without being armed? I am not kidding!
Tougher laws will not make a difference because the Albany DA office does not enforce them.

Corey Ellis Yesterday, Corey, along with Barbara Smith and Dominick Calsolaro, held a press conference to discuss gun violence in the City of Albany. Here's a video of some of the highlights.

Source: www.youtube.com
On Tuesday, September 8, 2009, Albany Common Councilmembers Corey Ellis, Dominick Calsolaro, and Barbara Smith stood outside of the now closed Henry Johnson Boulevard police station to bring attention to the growing problem of gun violence and crime in Albany's neighborhoods.

I totally agree this is overdue Community Policing, people feel like there on lockdown, Kids are in school but they still need more entertainment like arcades or a downtown mall or something that will get them away from violence once they return home they need activities and back to feeling welcome here in albany. More computer learning centers and... Read More we need to expand businesses throughout the city. I think alot of buildings need revitalization especially on lower central ave most businesses look shabby we need to use nys money wisely and where it will matter the most.

Having Gun violence skyrocketing will have people moving out a more quicker pace we need to make people stay here in albany ny and gifts for guns is a great program and should be done on monthly basis

Corey: In your opinion, why does Albany need diversity in the Fire Department? Pretend I have no idea why this would be necessary. Can you break it down for me? You can look at my FB status line to see the question and some of the responses that need clarification. Thanks! Laura
