Cork Midsummer Festival
The Irish Canon (abridged)
10 plays, 70 characters, 3 actors, 1 hour

Following it's huge success in the Cork Midsummer Festival’s Irish Examiner Spiegeltent, The Irish Canon (abridged) will play in the Half Moon Theatre. Three actors hurtle through ten plays and 70 characters in a show that’s crammed with culture, come...dy and hilarious hysterics.

In a jam-packed hour, the Half Moon stage will come alive with Irish figures who have dominated theatrical circles for over a century. Cathleen Ni Houlihan, Christy Mahon, Bessie Burgess and many more grace the stage in quick succession, running breathlessly through iconic Irish theatre of over one hundred years, unfurling into comic chaos.

Completely and unashamedly abridged, watch The Irish Canon, flash before your eyes dragging Irish plays kicking and screaming into the future. It must be seen to be believed and features the cream of Cork actors. This multi-headed parody is filled with oodles of imagination and a knock-about sense of fun and guarantees to give you a chuckle.

Script/Directed by Laura Harte.
Starring Cora Fenton, Dominic MacHale and Adrian Scanlon. With a special appearance by Laura Daly.

Venue: Half Moon Theatre
Date: Saturday 11 July; Monday 13 – Thursday 16 July (excl Sunday)
