You brought up a great point, Patricia. Yes, people do use their contacts to build their subscriber lists. If done properly, it can work.

I've been added to many lists by way of Social Media. I don't take kindly to email harvesting, but if I don't like the newsletter, I simply unsubscribe.

I would recommend sending out a blast email to everyone on your contact list requesting their permission to add them to your list. Initiate the double opt-in feature in the email and give people a choice. That's permission-based and most people don't mind that. ... Read More
