Cotton Electric Cooperative Cotton Electric employees participated in the Spirit of Survial event. Several walked 5K on a warm Saturday. Some returned on a wet Sunday to work an aid station for other running 5K, 10K and in full and half marathons. One runner was a Cotton Electric Services, Inc. employee.

Cotton Electric Cooperative Mason begins to pull lines dangling from a pole across the street toward the new pole. The wire is new and the sun glints off the seven aluminum strands wrapped around another made of steel. It is as big around as a pencil, stiff and springy. It snakes away when Mason loses his grip. He chases it down and wrangles it back across the street.

Cotton Electric Cooperative Research for a story about the 70th anniversary of the Day of Light, featured in the August 09 editon of The Current, turned up many old photos. There are two groups here. One batch came from Jerry Pinkerton, former owner of the Walters Herald. His pictures of employees were 4" x 5" negatives kept in a fragile envelope... postmarked April 1942. In response to the story, the grandson of Charley Cox sent a group of photos. Cox was a key figure in organizing the cooperative and one of the orginal employees. The photos are of a trip he took to Washington, DC on behalf of the co-op.

Cotton Electric Cooperative Four-person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Range balls, cart, green fees and meal are included in entry fee. Individual, team and door prizes to be awarded. Procceeds go to Cotton Electric Charitable Foundation, to aid area organizations and individuals.
