River & Riptide Anglers Its been a great season, the albies did give in and the steelhead fishing on the Salmon was great. To all of the gang both local and outside the state, have a wondeful holiday. The season is right around the corner. God Bless. David Porreca. Thames on Sunday...

Dave as this year comes to an end I would like to thank you for all you have done and continue to do for my family and myself. Your knowledge and willingness to help in every aspect of fishing has made this such a wonderful year, each experience has been a positive one. THANK YOU.
I have been blessed to have made such ...great friendships with so many. To everyone that has helped and offered advice and tips...THANK YOU.
May you all have a safe, healthy and Happy Holiday season.

Chris Grenon Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there I've come to know through River and Riptide Anglers and to all those I've met while fishing. It's been a great year and I've learned much from all of you. Thanks for the all the advice and new areas to fish. I've caught more this year than all before now, comb...ined. One day I may be able to catch up with Joey. I don't know though, he keeps that horseshoe hidden pretty well! Thanks Dave for the answers to all those questions and for Monday night tying, I look forward to it every week.

River & Riptide Anglers Wow Monday night tying has been a hoot, new tactics, new flies, good stories, etc. Cant wait to fish again, maybe this weekend on the Thames before I have to pay 100 bucks to fish CT once again. Thanks to the Gov of Ct for sticking it to the taxpayers. Boy thats going to hurt local bus. Anyway happy holidays from River & Riptide Anglers.

Joseph Wow!, can't believe the great fishing in mid December. Thames River and the abundance of stripers, Wood River has still been produceing some very nice fish. Any thoughts of putting away the gear for the year should be reconsidered. Fresh water or salt, it doesn't matter, the fishing and catching goes on.

River & Riptide Anglers River & Riptide Anglers is celebrating the 12 days til Christmas Eve offering a daily special each day. What a great time to save on fly/Fishing gear. Out-A-Sater's can contact the shop for daily deals. Hope to see you at the shop. www.riverandriptide.com

River & Riptide Anglers OK we're having too much fun on Monday nights, fly tying is good and its gonna get better. These nights are really helping the winter pass by. Looking forward to next Monday. Whats everybody tying? Oh tonight the DOCTOR was in aka John Troiano...

River & Riptide Anglers Drove by the checking station myself, deer being tagged and the water seemed stained as well as high. Need a week at least to get fish settled. Did get an e-mail from Chris with nice bow. Looking forward to tying tomorrow night. Filling in my Caddis holes.

John Troiano Went down and fished at the Falls River Bridge today. Drifted nymphs for about an hour....no action, but the river is still up pretty high.

River & Riptide Anglers Been a crazy week with some recent rain & now snow. The good thing is there are plenty of Trout in our little Wood River to get us through the winter months. For those with CT licenses the Thames River in Norwich has seen some pretty good size Stripers which hold over well through the winter. I love New England...

River & Riptide Anglers Anglers, Anyone in the RI area this Friday, stop in for store specials, hot coffee, and treats. Happy Thanksgiving and keep fishing.

Jeff Morrison At the same time you all were in NY, I was in Northern California (Trinity River in Lewiston and Lower Sacramento River in Redding). Netted (3) 25" - 6lbs Steelies! I highly recommend it!

A gigantic landslide that buried a highway, uprooted homes and rerouted a river in Washington state's Cascade Range left hundreds of smaller victims: fish.
