In this post, we will explore the mechanics of a simple no-nonsense bicycle seatpost collar. What encourages me you ask?I was alerted to a Thomson seatpost failure at the Weightweenies forum. The item is a "Masterpiece" brand, the lighter cousin of the utilitarian "Elite"...

Cozy Beehive This sort of character assassination between two racers is totally uncalled for, even after lets see, 5 months after the TDF. Lance and his manager continue to make clowns of themselves in front of the media. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/armstrong-slams-contadors-entourage

Conflict is inevitable when you have two racers with winning dreams in the same team. But this kind of combat is really optional. To think that manager and athlete are hurling this at a non-English speaking athlete on the other side of the pond, who has just a brother for a spokesperson. Wow.

It's also called "monster egos," witness Greg LeMond and his incessant BS.

Before you go ahead, I want to take this time to wish you all a Merry Christmas. If the downward spiraling economy has taken a toll on your finances and your kids are wondering where this year's gifts are, tell them Father Santa had swine flu and is in bed rest...

Cozy Beehive Here's wishing everyone a memorable Christmas and a promising 2010 ahead. Is it just me, or do I think 2009 just flew by?

It did fly by. I think burning fossil fuels is not only contributing to global warming but it may also be affecting the time-space continuum :o) Merry Christmas and a Happy 2010 to all!

When I hear of amazing tales of bicycling injuries and recoveries, I always think 'wow, do some folks have a disproportionate amount of lucky stars stashed somewhere in their basement?' Maybe that's why I don't have so much luck...

Cozy Beehive Not related to bikes but definitely to carbon fiber as a material for airplanes. Today, the Dreamliner 787 took its maiden voyage. But behind all the glitz is one of the most revolutionary leaps in the history of manufacturing. Great article here explains all that : http://www.designnews.com/article/14313-Boeing_787_Dr...eamliner_Represents_Composites_Revolution.php?q=787+dreamliner

Hi Sandy. Nice to see you here. Yeah CF is the future with airplanes And there's so much research going on in the country to monitor damage parameters in structures like bridges, I can't see why it won't be applied to airplanes in the coming years. There's talk of paint based stress monitoring technologies. :)
