Crazy About Kenya

Crazy About Kenya Howdy wonderful people!

First and foremost we just want to say thank you for all the support you have shown us during our first year of existence. We are grown with you..truthfully speaking, we are nothing without you.It has been a great first year, we look forward to bigger, better things in the coming years, we look f...orward to these things with you..we love you all!

We hope to honor our fans with a first anniversary performance one of these fine days.

Now to more pressing issues, we have been a bit quiet..but not inactive...Friday 13th Nov saw Mstari Leon and Mstari Denno bring the house down at the Project Heshima Rhythm and Spoken at Dass Ethiopian Lounge. They charmed the Rhythm and Spoken audience with wit and intellect...leaving fans asking for more...

Mstari Maik had earlier made a ten minute cameo appearance at Rhythm and Spoken en route to Kisumu, performing a naughty piece that set the trend for the duo to rock the Rhythm and Spoken audience.Who knew he could have such thoughts?

Friday 27th November sees the Mstari quintet entertain the parents and students of Braeburn during a private event at the institution.

Mstari Maik will soon be teaming up with Elani to perform the popular "Nakupenda Lakini" on the 11th of December at a soon to be announced venue. This is for a worthy cause.

Mstari first lady, Njeri Wangari has an anthology of poetry out in print in March 2009. Support Mstari Njeri by getting a copy of this poetry when it hits the stores.

Mstari Masese is going strong, he has some pretty amazing stuff in the pipeline.

Peace and blessings..

Mstari Wa Nne

Crazy About Kenya

Crazy About Kenya Peace and Blessings to you Beautiful People!

It has been several weeks since we have sent out our last update on Slam Africa & letting you all know what we have been up to.

So this is just to let you all know we are still with you. I know you all are busy, so this is just a quick one....

After 14 months of continuous Sla...m Africa events, we decided to take a little pause for the cause. We figured it was time to take Slam Africa to the next level.

We are happy to inform you that we are currently in the process of registering the Slam Africa platform as a non-profit organization. This will allow us to fully fulfill our vision, and is the biggest step we can take to spreading the Slam Africa community across the continent.

We are currently working on some very exciting steps for our expansion to Tanzania, Ghana, and South Africa. It has been a work in progress, but we now have members of the Slam Africa community in place to begin holding the events in each country. Watch this space for updates on this poetic African expansion.

We are also currently working to build up the poetic talent by providing weekly workshops in Nairobi. Spoken word poetry workshops are held every Saturday @ Dass Ethiopian Lounge from 11am to 1pm and are open to the public. Call 0727737344 if you would like more details.

Remember, Slam Africa is a community initiative. We function from the commitment of individuals dedicated to this movement and its expansion across the continent. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch with us... there are many ways to become involved.

We will be having an event soon and you will receive an invite shortly.

Until then, stay cool.

Thank you for the continued support.

Madd Love,

The Slam Africa Team
