Ilinka van Veghel-Hellmund Christoffelpark, I love to see you on Facebook!!

Christoffelpark, Curacao Its getting drier and drier on the island, as there were almost no rainshowers in the rainy season. Although the park is still relatively green compared to other areas on the island, you can start seeing the effects already (picture from 2 years ago). Everyone who thinks that there is nothing left to see when everythin...g appears brown and grey should take another look. Small flowering plants, flowering cacti, bromeliads with dew drops, drinking areas and the elevated parts of the park are zooming with life now. You can observe all kinds of birds and insects.

Christoffelpark, Curacao The Grey Kingbird or Pimpirí in Papiamentu (Tyrannus dominicensis) is often mistaken for the Tropical Mockingbird (Chuchubi). The bill which is thicker and black and the position of the bird when he sits is very different to the upright positions of Mockingbirds. The Grey Kingbirds can often be found sitting on power l...ines (like in the picture) and are very apt at catching insects in flight.

Christoffelpark, Curacao Christoffelpark has a new logo! If you have been visiting our website www.christoffelpark.org regularly you would have seen the logo already. Rene Wissink, the graphic designer who also designed the Savonet Museum logo and is working on the exhibitions for the new museum coordinated the design.
