| About Me: | ·I was raised on my family ranch in Laramie County and attended Trinity Lutheran School, Johnson Junior High and Cheyenne East High School (Go T-Birds!). ·I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Animal Science, and B.S. in Biology and, eventually, a law degree in 1985 (Go Cowboys!) ·My husband, Al Wiederspahn, who is also University of Wyoming alum, and I have one daughter, Annaliese. ·We are all members of Trinity Lutheran Church. · I have been involved across Wyoming in community based volunteer and charitable efforts including: o Wyoming Women's History House in Laramie o The Wyoming Stock Growers Agricultural Land Trust o Cheyenne's Vision 2020 community visioning process o Center for the Rocky Mountain West advisory board o The Ruckelshaus Institute for Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming o Cheyenne Frontier Days Board of Directors - I was the first woman to serve in that capacity in the 111 year history of the organization. · In 1979, I was elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives – the youngest woman ever elected to the Wyoming Legislature. · I served a total of 14 years in the Wyoming House and Senate, concentrating on natural resource and taxation issues. · I served 2 terms as Wyoming's State Treasurer and converted Wyoming's investment portfolio of $3.5 billion to a fully diversified portfolio, totaling $8.5 billion. · While State Treasurer, I held Wyoming's first 'Women and Money' conference and was the Wyoming Small Business Advocate of the Year. | ||||||
