Great tour this weekend from AIA Atlanta, and a tour of Paul Rudolph's Cannon Chapel next week:

Exclusive tour with Kemp MooneyOctober 31, 2009, 2p-4pNovember 1, 2009, 2p-4p

History and current issues of architecture and urban design in the 'Fairlie Poplar' neighborhood and the edges of that area of Atlanta. Starting at ...Georgia Pacific then walking down Broad through Healey meandering through the few older blocks eventually focusing on the Olympic Park, perhaps into and through CNN (Omni complex) back towards Five Points along the Woodruff park returning to Georgia Pacific. The points of conversation will deal with historic value buildings and their uniqueness where possible - who designed them, review the renovations - positive and other, the new constructs and the manner of relating to scale and other issues of context. The tours are limited to 15 people.
