
Palau Musica Catalana is such a gorgeous building! Barcelona had the most gorgeous Art Nouveau (which, in Barcelona, is called Modernism) architecture, and this place was drop dead gorgeous... (full of organic ceramic work, glass, and colored tiles!)

For mid-semester break, Damon and I decided to travel to Barcelona, then Paris for the week. In Barcelona, we got to meet up with my parents, who were travelling through as well on route to Seville for a conference....

Saw this great statue at the Vatican museum representing "Autumn" with all these grapes in her hair... thought I'd do my version of her! Enjoy!

Such a close walk, and always such lovely imagery! You'll remember these arches from an earlier set of watercolors (this time, better pigment and bigger paper!)

Il Gigante, representing Neptune, was originally built out of concrete in 1910 and held up a shell shaped Art Deco dance patio. He was damaged by bombing in World War II, and further damaged by rough storms in the 1960s. Today, the remains watch over a beach in Monterosso Al Mare...

I love all the colorful umbrellas in the square at Vernazza- reminded me of flowers folded up at the end of the day...
