Read More monasteries and tortured, so it is hard for the Tibetan people to see the Chinese authorities as friendly, which they so obviously are not, if people cannot parade in the streets that they have built and paid for, themselves.

Beverly, the way I understand it, meditation is plain mind training, so any body posture is meant to be just helpful in concentration. There is walking meditation, lying meditation... in that sense, what ever is comfortable for you to get your thoughts on the right track is what works.

When I began training my mind, I constantly obsessed over my body posture until it consumed my mind and negated any useful thinking I sought to accomplish.
Then one day I went and meditated at a local temple with some wonderful monks that gave me this exact advice.
After taking this to heart, I was immediately able to better concentrate for longer periods of time because the worry of my back aching from a rigid posture was no longer a concern.
