The Chief Vann House historic site will honor one the first Christmas celebrations in the Cherokee Nation with "Cherokee Christmas by Candlelight," the re-creation of a 19th century Christmas from 5 to 9 pm December 11 and 12. Moravian missionaries celebrated the holiday at Chief Vann's mansion in 1805. Admission is $3....50 for children, $4.50 for seniors and $5 for adults. Job Fair and Career Expo! The Georgia Department of Labor and WTVC NewsChannel 9 is co-sponsoring the job fair from 1-5 pm at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center here in Dalton, GA. This event is expected to attract 60 employers with job openings. Job seekers are encouraged to attend and take full advantage of the resources that will be available.

Prater's Mill hosts a country fair which includes artists, craftsmen, music and food every year during the 2nd weekend in October. At other times of the year, Prater's Mill offers visitors plenty of outdoors space to enjoy get-togethers with family or friends; a company, church or club outing or personal time besides ...a charming northwest Georgia stream. Explore around the old grist mill and dam, old country store, barn, cotton gin, railroad cars, and other attractions. Come discover these attractions along with a wooded nature trail along the Coahulla Creek. The park is open year-round and free to the public.
