Congratulations. Premier McGuinty is a great good will ambassador for Ontario and for Canada and his office is first rate and has helped those of us in public life assist people with individual or business needs and information regarding
Ontario. This will be lots of fun for the entire continent.
Toronto is a great place.

I am for full day kindergarten, but I am not amused with the nembers starting at 26 and that is not a cap.
children learn better in smaller class sizes, and I think a cap needs to be continued at 20.

This change has been long overdue and is no real surprise. The only tangible opposition to it comes with cost analysis and that is a matter of statistics and intepretation, meaning both sides will have their own arguments. I would agree that smaller class sizes have a greater impact but also concede that such a target is unlikely in the current economic conditions.

Despite what you assert, full day schooling for 4 and 5 year olds is not putting them first. I can't help but think that this is just a vote getting initiative for working parents.

Tax payers?? Are you kidding me? The payback from this investment is enormous! The world's leading economists say it is ridiculous NOT to make this investment. I whole heatedly encourage everyone to look further into the numbers here. Not only are children getting early learning opportunities when their brains are at a most optimal period time ... Read Moreof development, but research shows quality early programs decrease poverty, crime, major health issues such as mental health and other serious diseases. If we consider the costs of health care alone, and see that these children will have less of a need for critical health care later, that alone will save the province (and tax payers!) loads of dollars! Dr Fraser Mustard sums this up perfectly in the Early Years report.

Also, early learning doesn't reflect school classes in a traditional sense, but more child centered learning though play opportunities. All of this is research based and has solid evidence for success. No one is doing this to get votes or look better to the voting public. This really is a good thing. New Zealand has been doing it for a while now, we're not recreating the wheel here, we're getting ahead!

The Premier went to Guelph to meet several people who are training as welders. Second Career has been an amazing success helping more than 21-thousand train for high-demand jobs.
