Andrews brings nearly 20 years experience to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's news team, having recently worked at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, CA as the sports director and anchor since 2004.Prior to that, he worked in Chicago, IL and served as the national sports anchor for FSN Bay Area, FSN Chicago and FSN Ohio. His career in broadcasting began in Los Angeles at KABC-TV as a news editor from 1990-1994.
Throughout his career, Andrews has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including six Mark Twain Awards from the Associated Press Television Radio Association, three Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio-Television News Directors, three Golden Mike Awards and two local Emmy Awards.
A native of Southern California, Andrews has a love of all sports, and his 6'6" frame and athletic ability offered him several Division 1 basketball scholarships and he chose to play for and graduate from Eastern Washington University. Andrews was also offered an opportunity to play professional over-seas basketball, but he turned it down and instead he worked very hard at his goal of entering the television journalism industry. He now resides in California's East Bay.
