Happy New Year everyone! The DanceXchange team are back in the office today gearing up for a busy month ahead of British Dance Edition (3-6 February) - a four day festival of British dance in Birmingham.
As part of BDE there will be a number of public shows by companies such as Arthur Pita, Jasmin Vardimon and Vincent ...Dance Theatre. And we've just added a new public show to the line up; a night of dance by Russell Maliphant Company & CobosMika Company- tickets now on sale!

This exciting iniative is once again being driven by producers DanceXchange and Birmingham with funding from Advantage West Midlands, Arts Council England, West Midlands, and Birmingham City Council and sponsorship from Brewin Dolphin. Showcasing a huge range of dance ...styles at venues across both the city and the region, programme highlights include: a new solo Kathak work by acclaimed choreographer Akram Khan; the National Ballet of Cuba featuring guest appearances by Carlos Acosta; Mark Morris Dance Group with the orchestra of English National Opera; Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals; Sutra, a stunning dance piece featuring 17 monks from the original Shaolin Temple in China; and C!RCA, a thoroughly new circus show combining dance with awe inspiring acrobatics. There will also be a host of other activities and events including free outdoor spectaculars, a weekend for children and families, and many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to take part. The festival is also supported by Media Partner BBC WM and Accommodation Partner Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre, and is working in partnership with the West Midlands Culture Programme for London 2012 (www.wm2012.com).
