It has been a fun and exciting year and i'm looking forward to a busy 2010 season! O'Young to Explore the World of Stock Cars at the ARCA Test at Daytona International Speedway
Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 16, 2009) Starbeast Motorsports, a new race team seeking to bring the international community to the world of NASCAR, is excited to test Chinese driver Darryl O’Young at the ARCA Racing Series 3-day open... test at Daytona International Speedway Dec. 18-20. The test, an essential step before exploring any future options in NASCAR, will serve as the O'Young's introduction to stock cars and ovals.
This new experience will bring a very new challenge for China's top GT race driver, "I was invited to the test and I thought it would be a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of a stock car. These cars are much heavier and different than anything I've ever driven so it'll be a very interesting experience. I've also never driven on an oval or a super speedway so I'll have a huge learning curve during the test, but I'm looking forward to be able to have a look into this completely different world of motorsport. This is purely a test and it doesn't change my path and commitment to GT racing in Europe and Asia" said O’Young.
Starbeast Motorsports has formed a strategic partnership with JTG Daugherty Racing, which has a proven track record with successfully marketing and developing foreign driver Marcos Ambrose to race in the premier NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. JTG Daugherty Racing will provide technical and marketing support for Starbeast Motorsports.
“Collaborating with such an experienced race team as JTG Daugherty Racing will help Starbeast Motorsports develop a successful NASCAR program,” stated Miguel Abaroa, Founder & CEO of Starbeast Motorsports. “The goal is to eventually bring stock car racing to the 1 billion potential Chinese market. This is a first step.”
Testing alongside O'Young during the test will be India's ex Formula 1 driver, Narain Karthikeyan. Andy Hillenburg will advise O'Young and assist his transition into a stock car at the upcoming ARCA test.

Darryl O'Young 歐陽若曦 Sepang Short Track - Final round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. On-Board Porsche GT3 Cup Car of Darryl O'Young. Battle between Tim Sugden (White and Red Porsche), Christian Menzel (Yellow Porsche) and Darryl O'Young. O'Young won round 12, but got off to a bad start off the line which started this battle between the 3... drivers. Sugden won the race but Menzel won the championship by 1 point after this race was finished.
