Daniel Roberts made a terrific suggestion re Holocene and a possible initial market. I totally agree that online dating services would make a terrific initial test market, since the cocktail party analogy is perfectly apropos.
I just don't have a clue who to approach. But if anybody has suggestions on how to reach the ...people involved with dating sites, please write to me at davidbrin@sbcglobal.net.

Have you ever considered bring your Holocene Conversation idea to internet dating sites. For those of you disappointed about my fan page having "only" 150 fans, please note: I welcome you all!
David can only stop by this page infrequently. I must write 1000 words per day on my novel, and frequently update my two political/science blogs.
Please feel free to drop by my Contrary Brin blog at: http://davidbrin.blogspot.com and drop me a line.

David added a "follow" option to "Contrary Brin," the Blogspot blog. It helps to put a face on the blog's readers - although the raucous comments do this too!
If you have a Blogger account and read Contrary Brin, please click to become a follower. (The Salon blog has a follower option too.)

See David's latest take on "the under-appreciated issues that no one talks about" in the upcoming Presidential election: http://davidbrin.blogspot.com/2008/09/un der-appreciated-issues-that-nobody.html
Why is David taking time out from finishing his newest Uplift book to blog about the election? He's a Futurist -- and wants a future to predict!

David just started a second blog on Salon: http://open.salon.com/content.php?cid=17 245
Called Tomorrow Happens (recognize the name?), it will have a more essayist vibe than Contrary Brin. The first entry: "Things Only A Zillionaire Could Do To Save America."

re: odd scientific dilemma.
Odd? No. Just different people, different tastes.

David Brin
Naturally, David is hosting a lively discussion about Sarah Palin in his blog's comments section. See it here: http://davidbrin.blogspot.com.

David Brin If you haven't yet discovered David's blog, please stop by: http://www.davidbrin.blogspot.com. Each week David writes about science, politics, or the intersection of science and politics. His posts generate a lively, spirited discussion (to say the least).
