It's insane to think that the same people (Congress) who created the healthcare crisis with the anti-trust exemption, now want to fix it by replacing insurance company monopolies with a government monopoly! The lemmings that agree with Democrats without questioning the math that doesn't add up, is killing our Democracy!

A few months ago, ... Read MorePresident Obama passionately said that Afghanistan was a war on necessity, but now that the far left of his party is tired of his compromising and holding out on promises he made to them, are now calling in their IOU's for getting him elected...so now he is stalling and doubting his commander in the field and all the lemmings are following suit! Something is wrong when people can think for themselves! Our nation is in big trouble and I wonder how bad it has to get until people snap out of it and see things as they really are!

...back to healthcare...Democrats are lying to us and I wonder if we will acknowledge it when the facts are blatantly obvious. For instance, Schumer, Dean, Durbin, Pelosi, Reid and all the other far left Democrats are saying that we need the Public Option to create competition...but when it destroys competition and they tell us we have to switch ... Read Moreto socialized medicine run by the government, will you still believe them?! And what about President Obama's promise that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it. Well, if small businesses drop their coverage and force their employees to use the Public Option, will you say they got to keep their insurance?! How stupid are we...I don't want to find out. Again, look at this objectively and take the politics out of it...so you can see this for what it really is. It's obvious that we need healthcare reform, but what we are being sold is worse than what we currently have, so we must get it right or pay dearly for getting it wrong!

Between the Public Option and the nearly Trillion Dollar price tag, it is doomed to fail us. We need to eliminate the anti-trust exemption and create real competition and stop letting the insurance companies and government profit at our expense. That is the choice, but the most of the media has sided with the insurance companies and the politicians, with no one looking out for us. C'mon...wake up America!

What I haven't understood is why none of the NBC and MSNBC pundits have not asked Dr. Snyderman "What are you going to do?" Assuming she's not yet 50 years old, is she going to abandon her personal mammographies until her 51st birthday?

It is our children who carry the dreams and goals of human progress. They are the dreamers and our young will someday journey to Mars and establish a moon base to explore the heavens. Once our young achieve these dreams, we will know that humanity will expand the length and breadth of this universe. Maybe they will be helped listening to the speeches and programs of such visionaries as Carl Sagan and Presidents like John F Kennedy.

The treatment that conservative women receive at the hands of liberals never ceases to amaze me. Where was the SNL character making fun of Caroline Kennedy week after week when she had her tongue wrapped around her eye teeth? After that sampling inarticulate hemming and hawing by Ivy League educated Caroline, she sneaked back to her iron gated "... Read Morecompound" much to the relief of many New Yorkers. Gov. Palin, who was actually elected by real people to both local and state offices, was subjected to the most vile humor and innuendo. I'd put Sarah Palin or Liz Cheney up against Jokin' Joe Biden in a Vice Presidential debate any day. The upside to that would be an interesting hour from the ladies and a whole load of new "stories" replete with embellishment from the current Vice President whom liberals seem able to take sooooo seriously.

Maybe if these wars were financed with cash instead of unlimited debt, there would be a plan, with a goal and a timeline? That's the old-fashioned way of going to war. People get behind it, Congress votes on it, and we get it done. Backdoor wars are dishonest and costly.

Pull the plug already. Save American lives.

Wars never have timelines.
The battle ahead will make the movie Road look like a Picnic. I'm not talking in any way of nation building, or attempting to help the current regime in Afghanistan - that is a lost cause. I've walked the walk in the military and I know what it is like to be seconds away from a nuclear missile strike and that is how ... Read Moreclose we were in October, 1962. If we do not deal with Al Qaeda and the Taliban, they will be in possession of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal.
What is going on in Pakistan and Afghanistan is a war by extemists to eliminate Western ideas and culture. The radical muslims who blew up trains in England are talking about Britain as an islamic country. That is how weird they are, but there are many in England. This is not new. This current frenzy is like the original fight the West had in the 7th and 8th centuries when they came as close as one battle to overwhelm Western Europe - The Battle of Tours. That battle made the difference between a christian, or muslim Europe.
If we do not show strength in handling these fanatics it will convince the rest of the Muslim world we, in the West, are push overs.

the show today with arne, al and newt was just that a show.

Taking Duncan's argument for reform in American schools to a level more related educational pedagogy and professional responsibility is clear that Duncan is not an educator. Duncan's pitch, supported by Gingrich and Sharpton, is that the Race to the Top, which is based on performance, is the answer to educational problems: meaning if you don't perform you don't get rewarded, and by default you get punished. The you is in reference to students, teachers, parents and school districts. Look for a second at this argument for school reform, if there is no performance they (schools, students, teachers and communities) will be excluded from the reward. In Duncan's own words teachers should be removed that do not perform. Then from this logic can only conclude, according to Duncan, that if students do not perform they should be punished or removed from a school. As an educator this is both unethical and illegal. Since Arnie Duncan is not an educator he promotes this philosophy as reform rather than punishment.

http://ccsr.uchicago.edu/content/publications.php?pub_id=136... Read More

In a University of Chicago study, When Schools Close, specifically looking at Duncan’s policy of punishing low performance, they found that the school transformation policy forced on locally governed schools in Chicago did nothing to improve performance or outcomes for the district's students. The study found that Duncan's reforms caused a disruption in the educational continuity of many of the students of Chicago that were forced to endure school closings, teachers being fired, and lack of choice to enroll in neighborhood schools of their choice.

There is no argument that there needs to be change in the current educational system. There needs to be more equity and opportunity for students. The argument centers around who's to blame. As is quite clear from this nationally televised performance, everyone is to blame except to bureaucracies and agencies that control the resources and funding that should go directly to student instruction. As is quite clear, from the show, there is no intention of true school reform because again Arnie Duncan is controlling the money and will only release it if you listen to him.
