Since I'd not heard of the volpino before, I googled it (what else?). The first thing I thought when I saw the pictures was that it looks far more like a Pomeranian than a Maltese. Then I thought, if it were bigger it would look like a Spitz. How big is the volpino?

Volpini are tiny little dogs and very, very rare. The Carpaccio is here - http://www.abcgallery.com/C/carpaccio/carpaccio23.html

David Hewson I'm at home working on a couple of new projects for the next few weeks. My next public appearance will be at the Vancouver Writers Festival at the end of October. My next book is The Cemetery of Secrets, which is a revised reissue of the original Lucifer's Shadow from a decade ago. It will appear in the UK in early October.

Re-issue "Lucifer's Shadow" and "The Lizard's Bite" together. Remember when the old paperbacks were double books, front was one book and the reverse, up side down was the second. Just a thought. What does a good old boy from West Virgina really know.

David Hewson Spending the summer promoting the current books and thinking about the next step in the Nic Costa series (but don't worry - the eighth and ninth books are now finished and will be published from 2010 onwards)

David Hewson The ninth Nic Costa book is now completed, bar the final publisher edits and all that pre-publication stuff. I'm afraid you probably won't see it until 2011 though. Sorry.. that's the way the schedules work.

No - I'm doing lots else besides - the whole itinerary just has 3/4 nights in Bangkok. I always try to link up my foreign trips to conserve time and reduce flying rather than keep going backwards and forwards unnecessarily.
