Biography:	One day a couple of years ago David Yazbek hit Life upside the head with an aluminum baseball-bat and out came fourteen songs about Anger, Bliss, Violence, Misery, Sex and Redemption. The EVIL MONKEY MAN lives inside Yazbek's pineal gland and comes out through his throbbing voice and pounding fists in gestures of furious musical grace. The Blues is the fuselage, Joy and Rage are the fuel and America is the destination on this dizzying flight of creative passion. Yazbek was a cult-fave recording-artist known for his incendiary live performances and dazzling piano-work until he put his solo career on hold to become one of Musical Theatre's foremost composer/lyricists. What followed was Fame, Fortune and an exciting Nervous-Breakdown that sent him scurrying back to the recording studio and his talented band (His Warmest Regards). The result is a dramatic, troubling, enlightening and intensely musical song-cycle that will surprise fans of his theatre work and dismay members of his family. Yazbek is a two-time Tony nominee whose shows THE FULL MONTY and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS have played in over 20 countries. His first album THE LAUGHING MAN won the N.A.I.R.D. award for Best Pop Album of the Year. His other albums are TOCK, DAMASCUS and TAPE RECORDER (a compilation). He is also a Grammy-nominated record-producer, an Emmy-winning TV writer (Late Night with David Letterman), and the composer of the 'Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?' theme song. He recently wrote musical numbers for the movie "The Ten" in which Winona Ryder has hard sex with a ventriloquist's dummy. I agree with Adam, below. "Wasted" sounds even better live with Nelly McKay's backing vocals. It would be a nice track if you ever do a live album. If not, I have to remember to bring some not-so-subtle bootlegging equipment to the next show.

My wife and I came down from VT to see the show at Lincoln Center. We had a blast. Any chance of getting a recording of that show? The versions of "Wasted" and "Industrial Love Song" with Nellie McKay and Lauren Flanigan were priceless. Best wishes!
