Hey hope everythings going well there at Dodon Farm. You may remember Lyla. My little bay mare I brought out there for lessons this summer... I wanted to come out again soon, but she has kinda shut down...we were out in the middle of xc at fair hill going sideways and backwards...I think I'm going to have her scoped fo...r ulcers. She has been so cranky. But I will be back again! I learned so much when I was there that has tremendously helped me with the thoroughbred I am leasing for the time being.Read More

Dodon Farm Erin goes back to work November 5 and we need someone to take care of Sam and Andy from 9:30 - 2:30 or so weekdays. Any leads? We could barter for board and lessons or pay real money, or some combination. SP

Jeffrey A. Ross Steuart:

Congrats on the turnout for the OTTBs clinic. I think you have found you calling. Could be more lucrative than breeding.

Terry D'Alton Having had the honor to work with OTTBs, or I should say muddle through with their help, I think that this fantastic for the horses, eventing and bredding but it IS all about the horses. Thank you

Dodon Farm Congratulations to Michelle Warro and Billy and Tracey Bieneman and Zoomer on placing 2nd and 3rd in their large prelim divisions at Morven Park Sunday. Really tough course with lots of problems for other people. Well done! And let's all root for Tracey next weekend at Loch Moy where she's doing her first ever Intermediate. Go girl.

And of course Michelle kicked some butt at MD Horse Trials last weekend, placing 3rd and is now qulaified for a CCI* already. Poor Tracey had to swallow the news that Zoomer will be laid up for 6 months rather than doing their first intermediate. He'll be back, and in the meantime Zara will become a superstar! SP

Dodon Farm Great weekend. 350 people at our symposium and lots of good feedback. Everyone did a great job with their horses, especially jockey JK Adams. Who'd have thought dressage was so easy in an exercise saddle on a horse with 7 days of post race training? We raised $2400 for MD Therapeutic Riding. When we do these around the country next year they'll benefit local non-profits that place TBs off the track. - SP

It was great! I learned alot, the drive from SE Conn was well worth it, and my 'non-horsey' sister really enjoyed herself.

It was very good! next time I'll have to there much earlier. I had to stand the whole time. For those of you near Dodon Farm there is a used tack sale on Rt. 2 in Harwood at Holiday Stables. The address is 4246 Solomons Island rd. I myself have several good blankets to sell and some other odds and ends too. Please come!

Anne Thanks for a great symposium. My daughter and I enjoyed it and learned a lot. I came back home to check on my OTTB and could see the twinkle in his eye--"Eh, so you think you understand me now?"

We
had to come up with a new plan for seating, combining bleachers with
chairs in the arena! Over 200 tickets sold, and at the rate we're going
we may end up with close to 300 people there! You can still buy
tickets, and you can even buy them a...t the door. We can seat 350 if we have to.

John
Nunn double booked and just can...celled, but we've got someone even
better coming to ride. JK Adams, winner of over 1000 races on the flat,
will show us how to REALLY ride a horse! What's he up to in retirement?
Working with Leighton Farms Thoroughbred Placement and Rescue. You will
love this guy.

She's a half-sister to Salute The Truth. She was out of his dam, Good Queen Liz, and by Mystic Replica (another TB - sire of eventers). She was very refined and Steuart said she was doing great. I (Erin) really liked her.
