Dawn Black Thanks for your comments, Robin. It is absolutely tragic that we continue to fail to provide the necessary support and treatment to the increasing number of Canadian soldiers afflicted with brain injuries and PTSD. The fact that the Canadian Forces aren’t even properly equipped to track the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions adds further insult. Before Stephen Harper’s decision to call an election shut down the work of the Defence Committee, we had conducted hearings and received testimony from a number of witnesses on this issue. When Parliament resumes on January 26th, one of my first priorities in the Committee will be to issue a report to the Harper Government on our findings. I will continue to push for action and accountability from both the Harper Government and Canadian Forces to ensure that our recommendations and the recommendations of the existing studies are implemented without delay.
