In it you will be introduced to Thad Planck, who exists in a not too distant, imagined future where a section of the city he lives in is flooded and abandoned. Thad spends some time in this place, called Little Atlantis, and finds some alarming things there.

Empying The Big Basket 05

I got a little review in Tom Spurgeon's The Comics Reporter! It's a part of this entry "Empying The Big Basket 05" (Dead Man Holiday is the second from the bottom). Without geeking out too much, Spurgeon is the comics reviewer that I (and many other people) respect the most, so it's a total thrill that he liked the book so much. He has his critisisms (and seeing what they would be is the real reason I was looking forward to what he had to say), but on the whole he really seemed to enjoy the book. Which is really satifying for me. Read some of the other reviews, he's a pretty brutally honest reviewer.

The Random Pirate Comics Show

On this very special podcast of epic proportions, we talk about one of my favorite games, Space Quest! When I say "we", I refer of course to my special guest Colin Panetta of Dead Man Holiday. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get nostalgic for old adventure games.

And finally, I did an episode of the Random Pirate Comics Show with Jonah Gregory. Jonah is the co-creator, writer and publisher of Here There Be Robots, one of my absolute favorite comic books. If hearing the creator of Dead Man Holiday and the writer of Here There Be Robots talk about video games and comics for an hour or so sounds good to you, then you should definitely give it a listen. We intended for the show to be a Space Quest retrospective, but we jump all over the map about a lot of different stuff. I had a really great time talking to Jonah, and would like to thank him for having me on! I can't wait to come back.

Hey Colin! I will be patiently awaiting the next book...Loved DEAD MAN HOLIDAY #1. A great example of 'personal genre comics'. The storytelling skills on display, coupled with the intriguing premise, put's DMH on the top of my Indie books list!

It's coming! I'm in major crunch time on the video game, so I'm a little behind on orders, but it's in an envelope and sitting on my table. I'm hitting the PO on Monday.
