Public Health Nurse Joel Mallari injects an influenza vaccine at the Rock County Public Health Department in Janesville during walk-in vaccinations last month. Since then, supplies of the vaccine have become increasingly limited.
Walworth County Today I spent the morning contacting health care providers in Walworth County to see who has flu vaccine available to the general public. From what I found, everyone is out and awaiting shipments. Let me know if anyone is aware of shots being available in Walworth County.

There's a lot of construction going on, and two mishaps in as many days makes me wonder how many drivers really slow down through the construction zones.
Everyone has seen someone else zipping through at top speed, but I'd guess no one would admit they're driving unsafely.

I'm working from home today as my younger son lies in his bedroom, sick with the flu. (Didn't the flu know he has an appointment for a vaccine shot next Tuesday?).
Luckily, I can work from anywhere I can find an Internet connection. But if your child is home the flu, how are you handling work?

Roughly 30 percent of the students at Walworth's Middle and Elementary School stayed home sick from the flu Monday, so the district threw in the towel and closed for the rest of the week.

Walworth County Today An Aurora spokesman told me the Canadian man stranded in Auroral Lakeland Medical Center's ICU because Canadian officials couldn't find a suitable hospital bed for him back home was finally airlifted out of O'Hare last night.

ELKHORN A Canadian man was stranded in Aurora Lakeland Medical Center's intensive care unit until Wednesday because a suitable hospital bed wasn't available for him back home in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Walworth County Today I was saddened to hear the news today that Harley-Davidson has pulled the plug on Buell Motorcycles. I remember interviewing Buell in the early '90s before he sold to Harley. He was so excited -- like a kid in a candy story -- about what the future would hold. Bu his dream came to an end today with an emotional video announcement.

EAST TROY -- In an emotional video released today, founder Erik Buell announced that the company would cease production of Buell Motorcycles.
Walworth County Today The Elkhorn Police Department is on the lookout for chicken thieves. But the stolen animals aren't just any chickens. They are two of the three chickens that were part of the sign at the entrance of the Walworth County fairgrounds. Police are offering a $500 reward.

LAKE GENEVA -- The Wall Street Journal is the latest to pay a visit
to Lake Geneva to see what all the fuss is with the city council. Joe Barrett's article chronicles the recent suspension and un-suspension of several city council members.
But the real battle in the city is how to proceed on development issues. Without a functioning council, there is no way to come to a resolution.
