As a few of you know I recently had a photo (top left) selected to be placed in a nature calendar to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund! This is the second year that the calendar has been created on DeviantArt by Nature-Calendar...

DemiArts Some random photos taken on August 8, 2008. You can also view these on my Flickr.

So the Periodical Cicada mating season is coming to a close here in Kentucky. During these last few weeks I've managed to get a few nice photos. Although everyone around me hates Cicadas, I think they are fantastic creatures to look at.
---
A cicada is an insect of the order Homoptera, suborder Auchenorrhyncha, in the superfamily Cicadoidea, with large eyes wide apart on the head and usually transparent, well-veined wings. There are about 2,500 species of cicada around the globe, and many remain unclassified.

This year the fireworks show at Doe Valley was better then last year. Of the 106 photos that I took 20 of them made the cut. I love photographing fireworks, too bad its not something that I get to do very often...

DemiArts Fireworks...need I really say anything else. They mystify our minds as we watch them explode in the sky. They can be even more phenomenal behind the lens of a camera.
RECENT ACTIVITY
