This is the first in a series to show the wide variences in color and spotting in Chilean Brown trout.
We'll call the series "Paint Jobs".

The old wagon needed a little lovin'.
A quick trip to Les Schwab for some retreads and she's good as new!
I can't tell if those are Goodyear or Michelin.

Another Permit was cast to on Wednesday, this time it was Wayne Walts on deck, but still no love. Fishing has been steady along with the weather, but last night the weather sucker punched us. Hopefully the fishing does not do the same! The guys are fishing close in Little Creek today though it will surely be tough. Wit...h a little luck the weather may lay down a bit to give them time to make a couple casts. They have one more day left.Read More

Springtime is still trying to get out of the gate here in southern Chile.
Here's a look at the Rio Simpson as it flows through Coyhaique.

Rick Sisler Jr Yesterday was a great day on the water for Walts and crew. Peter Viau and Fritz Parker had a flurry of action with Tarpon and Permit that left them speechless. They both had shots at them, but neither were able to produce which seems to be the norm for the South Andros Permit and Tarpon. The Bonefishing has been steady through the huge full moon tides so the guys are having a good time.

Rick Sisler Jr Wayne Walts and crew have arrived and are into the second day of fishing now. Yesterday was quite good with Donovan Pieterse landing his biggest bone to date. We thought the weather was nice yesterday, but its epic today! Glass this morning as we headed to the boats. Should be hot!!

Rick Sisler Jr Well, my guests have come and gone. They left early this morning. The second day on the water turned out to be pretty tough on them with no fish brought to hand. Final day three turned out to be pretty good with seven fish to hand and one about 5 lbs, so not bad for a couple guys very new to fly fishing!

This is the first time our two Andros South guests have ever bonefished! Unfortunately the weather was pretty tough on them for the first day. Cloudy most the day, 20 mph winds and some rain. Bummer. I was expecting a grim report! But they spent the day with Charlie so they surely learned something and probably saw a f...ew fish? We were pleasantly surprised to hear that both Stuart and Ron each landed two bonefish on the fly. Did I mention that neither of them had done much fly fishing!Read More

Rick Sisler Jr A couple more guests arrive today for a short trip at Andros South. Should be good! The weather has been pretty nice overall, close to 90 with a bit of wind and no clouds. They will catch Bonefish tomorrow! And maybe a Cuda or two.

Rick Sisler Jr Almost forgot, we had a Permit sighting yesterday and a guest actually had a rod rigged and ready. He made a great cast, but as many Permit hunters know, you can do it all right and they still turn the nose up at you more often than not, just as this one did.

Rick Sisler Jr The final day of the trip for most of our guests this week. Its amazing how time flies when you're having fun. Quite a few fish landed so far this week and a couple big ones. The weather has been great all week with the top winds at about 15-18mph and the temps ranged from 80-90 all week. Great group of guys and I hope they finish strong today.

Rick Sisler Jr Should be another great day on the water. One boat landed 24 bones in under 2 hours and one guest landed an 8 pounder.Keep at it boys!
