Denis O. Lamoureux Many students in the audience found Lamoureux's message to be unique and insightful. "I've been brought up knowing that there's creation and then there's evolution," said Katherine Grimm, a freshman in psychology. "It was interesting hearing someone who believes in God and combines the two."

From the pulpits to the public school board, theories of evolution have been pitted against certain religious beliefs since Charles Darwin presented the basic tenets of evolution in On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection.

About a month ago, I finished reading Denis Lamoureux’s book Evolutionary Creation. Since I had met Denis at the ASA/CiS meeting in Scotland in 2007 and have corresponded with him a couple of times, I decided to ask if he would agree to let me interview him for my blog. ...

If more unbelieving scientists spoke out with the humility and good-naturedness of Dr. Caldwell, I daresay we'd be further along in this faith/science dialogue.

I definitely agree with you stephen concerning the good-naturedness and humility of Dr. Caldwell. Question though: Did he say specifically that he was atheist or is he more of an agnostic? Not totally sure how to interpret his position. Maybe you could shed some light on that for me.

Dr. Lamoureux, Is there any differnce between your 2008 edition of Evolutionary Creation and the 2009 edition?

This is Mike Beidler. The 2009 release of "I Love Jesus & I Accept Evolution" is a truncated version ("EC"-lite) of 2008's "Evolutionary Creation," with added chapters on the scientific evidence for evolution that aren't in his 2008 book. Probably a better introduction to the layman.
