Dennis Moore H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, will ensure health coverage for over 96% of American citizens and end abusive practices by some in the insurance industry.
I will be voting for this bill because it addresses the issues of affordability, fiscal responsibility, quality, and choice. We can no longer afford to do nothing. We must meet this challenge head on.

Dennis Moore I nominated Dr. Kimberlee Murphy as a 2009 "Angel in Adoption" for her outstanding work on behalf of children on the personal, professional, and community levels. The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), held a gala event in Washington, D.C., to honor Dr. Murphy and all of the Angel nominees. The children of our community are safer and healthier as a result of her devotion.

Dennis Moore Voted in favor of H.R. 3590, The Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act of 2009, which amends the federal tax code to ensure military personnel can take full advantage of the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit that was created as part of the Stimulus Act. Service members will not be forced to repay the tax credit if they are called for duty and forced to sell their home within three years of purchasing it.

This tax credit has been good for first time home buyers. Can we get it extended, and expanded to include all home buyers?

There is a lot discussion about extending the tax credit, but when it comes to expanding it to all home buyers one of the major concerns is where will the money come from. Estimates are that it would cost in the neighborhood of $80 billion.

Dennis Moore I, along with the rest of the Kansas congressional delegation, have worked hard to bring the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) to Kansas. With Tuesday's appropriations compromise, we can finally begin designing and building this state-of-the-art structure that will serve as a gem in the crown of our great state.

Dennis Moore On Monday, I, along with Colonel Jean-Claude Brejot and and Brigadier General Alex Duckworth, awarded the French Legion of Honor to Mr. Raymond A. Schrader of Kansas City for his extraordinary bravery in helping liberate France during World War II. The Legion of Honor is the highest distinction that France can bestow upon those who have carried out remarkable deeds for France.

Wow, that's great! I am always excited when WWII vets come into the capitol. I spoke with WWII vets in the rotunda that served in the same batallion as my grandfather at the Battle of the Bulge. They are really neat individuals.

Dennis Moore Today I held a hearing to focus on the role of technology in efforts to provide transparency and accountability for programs, such as TARP, and using technology to ensure federal agencies provide strong, coordinated oversight of financial services activity. The federal government should also be utilizing these technologies to better monitor systemic risk and, hopefully, prevent future financial crises.

Dennis Moore Our country’s financial ledger has been out of balance for too long and passage of statutory PAYGO, which the House approved on Wednesday by a vote of 265-166, brings us closer to getting our finances in order. The wealthy find loopholes because people like Mr Moore write loopholes in for them or do not read the bills and some lobbyist writes them in, just like AARP and the AMA in the health care bills.
