I grew up in Houston, graduated from Conroe High School and finally moved here in 1999 when I was 30 years old. Prior to that I lived all over the country because my stepfather was in the service and then my ex-husband loved to move all the time so I never had established firm roots. That is, until I moved here and I'm never leaving!! I lived in Austin back in the day (mid-1980's) and Denton now reminds me of Austin then. I believe that we as a community should stand by each other, support each other in business and make every effort to keep this wonderful town as cool as it is right now! Shop Denton First and Make the Square your destination of choice for shopping, eating and hanging out!

Whether I'm chiding the many streets that are core Teasley, they turn into something else, downtown in Beth Marie's, Fuzzy's, Driving past Frenchy's Lawn, Strolling at the Arts and Jazz Fest, Cruising along University, Taking advantage of new development, or relaxing on my own home, Denton makes me smile.

The little Austin they call it, and the little Austin it is.

The Jupiter House, brews good coffee, and beats Starbucks fellowship any day.
Denton history might not be as old, but maybe as comforting to me as learning about the Renaissance.

A spa or trip to Hawaii might help me relax, but never will I ever be allowed to call something my home other than Denton, Texas.
