Suzy Koehler

Suzy Koehler Just wanted to tell you guys how awesome y'all are, and that no one should be afraid to adopt a pound puppy or kitty. We got our dog Zeke there almost 7 years ago, and he was the sweetest, most loving, (and probably-purebred )Aussie Shepherd in the world. He passed away 3 years ago tomorrow so this is a tribute to him, and all shelter pets.

Denver Municipal Animal Shelter Why spay or neuter?
You will be happier because your pet will be:
Less likely to develop cancers and live longer
More focused on your family
Less likely to cause fights or jump the fence and run away
Most importantly, unable to produce unwanted offspring

To potential adopters: please be aware that many of the dogs at the shelter have kennel cough or other illnesses. If you see one you like, snatch him up. Waiting even one or two days can lead to many complications, including more expense, bringing a sick animal home to your healthy animals, having an un-neuterd/spay...ed animal that you will be responsible for later.... Don't wait!! take it from someone who has had the heartbreak twice now.Read More

I am sorry to hear about your heartbreak. I understand. I have 2 dogs. One I adopted from the shelter 5 months ago. His name is Leroy. A 2 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. There are so many great animals looking for a great home.
