Seven Cups Denver

Seven Cups Denver We have decided to start a new Seven Cups tradition. It may not be very Chinese, but we are going a-caroling! On Saturday, Dec. 19th, between 3 and 6 p.m., we will be giving out free cups of tea and going caroling around the neighborhood. Lyric sheets and musical accompaniment will be provided. Also, you can drop o...ff canned goods and we will be providing them to a local shelter. Bring your best singing voice, a Santa hat, and warm gloves.

We look forward to starting this new tradition with you! And feel free to spread the word.

Seven Cups Denver Tea is more than just a beverage. It is an experience and can become a way of life. Drinking a cup of tea grants us permission to slow down. Its inherent qualities keep us alert in mind and yet relaxed in body. Holding a cup of tea we feel its warmth in our hands. It nourishes us in so many ways. Join us in the experie...nce of tea as we explore how the wisdom of tea can enhance our lives.

Donna Fellman - Having traveled to the tea plantations of India and Taiwan, studied Chanoyu in Kyoto and at home, and managed teahouses in Seattle and Boulder, Donna does more than drink tea -- she lives it. She has also co-authored Tea Here Now (Inner Ocean Publishing 2005) which explores tea as a life style and a contemplative practice. She is director of the Tea Education Alliance and creates certification programs for tea professionals through the Specialty Tea Institute, the educational arm of the tea industry’s trade association.

Seven Cups Denver Time Magazine’s website has a recent article on puer tea. In it they mention that former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham may be drinking puer to lose weight. But even more newsworthy than that, the article contains three links to sites about Seven Cups’ recent puer tea tour. Even though we didn’t get mentioned, it’s nic...e to have that visibility and acknowledgement. Thank you Time!

Seven Cups Denver Because our recent calligraphy workshop was so popular and we had a waiting list for it, we have decided to offer it again. It is already filling up, so reserve your space soon. Once again Harrison Xinshi Tu will be teaching us the history of calligraphy and its various styles, as well as showing us some basic callig...raphy techniques.

Because of the materials provided, this class costs $10. Reservations can be made at the teahouse and seating is limited, so sign up soon.

Mr. Tu has become a devoted proponent of cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the East and the West. Since 1994, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese American Post, a Chinese-language newspaper available to the entire Rocky Mountain region. He has taught Chinese calligraphy and painting at Naropa University for the past twelve years, and has received a number of awards over the years.

Seven Cups Denver This is a group that's been meeting monthly for a while now. The idea is that each of us brings a puer tea to share and then we sample as many of them as humanly possible. It helps us develop our palette for this unique tea. If you don't have any puer, that's Ok. Just bring a thirst and a willingness to try some di...fferent teas.

There is more information about this ongoing group here:

And best of all, it's free!

Seven Cups Denver We made it a year in business in a recession. Not bad! So we would like to celebrate this milestone. We will be having a free tasting of our new 2009 green, white and yellow teas. And in my mind, it wouldn't be a party without some cake. So come on down, try some fresh teas, and help us celebrate. We hope to see you there.

Happy Birthday To Us!
