Digital Journalism Camp Portland I've already announced it on the blog and on Twitter so I know I'm being a little redundant, but if you're registered for the conference, you NEED this pdf. It has location details and maps, the schedule, and several pages of tools and resources for digital journalists. Even if you're not going you're going to find something good in it.

I want people to be able to follow everything that's happening on Aug. 1, so I put together a page that aggregates everything conference related.
It's a combination of Twitter Search, Google's blog search, the Flickr group, and the WikiSpaces pages. It's pretty quiet now, but on the day of the conference it's going to ...be really active. Let me know what you think.

Digital Journalism Camp Portland So looks fairly certain that Sprint is going to set up WiMax access for the conference -- which is pretty remarkable considering that they don't roll out that service for the rest of Oregon until mid August. I spent part of this morning with one of their

Digital Journalism Camp Portland The full conference schedule, plus speaker bios, are up on the site. It's a pretty interesting mix of people. Someone pointed out to me how few traditional media people are speaking. That was sort of the point. I want to put the innovative people in the spotlight and let the rest of us ask questions.

Digital journalism is where traditional print and broadcast journalism, blogging and web-based innovation meet. This is not some far-off future. It’s happening right now, all around us. And reporters, bloggers, editors, and broadcasters have a lot they can learn from each other.
It's time to shut up about about the deat...h of newspapers and start talking about how we, as journalists, are innovating right now — what’s working, what’s not, and how we can get better at what we do.
Digital Journalism Camp is an intense, one-day conference that kick-starts that conversation. The day's agenda is still being decided. Join in the dialogue by following us on Twitter (use the hashtag #journopdx) or by stopping by our site.
